Welcome to Ithaca College
Prior to your attendance at Summer Orientation on Monday, June 16, 2014, you should review the course scheduling tools in the Guide to Schedule Planning you will use to plan your fall schedule. On June 16, 2014, you will meet with a summer academic adviser who will help you develop your fall schedule. When preparing your schedule, you will need to keep in mind major degree requirements and Integrative Core Curriculum (ICC) requirements. To aid us in preparing to assist you with your course selection/registration for the Fall 2014 semester, I request that you review the information provided on this website and complete the necessary forms.
Prior to your meeting with an academic adviser, you should review the following resources which you will use to select your courses. You will need to keep in mind major and ICC requirements when planning your schedule.
1. The Ithaca College Catalog. Here you will find a listing of your degree requirements, course descriptions, and an explanation of the Integrative Core Curriculum (ICC) requirement. Not all courses listed in the Catalog will be offered during the fall semester. Refer to the course offerings for Fall 2014 on Homer Connect for a listing of current course offerings
b. Information about the Integrative Core Curriculum (ICC) for transfer students
2. The Fall 2014 Class Schedule is a listing, by department, of courses being offered during the fall semester. You will find the times and days of course offerings on Homer Connect.
a. For specific information about reading the Homer Connect course listings, refer to Guide to Schedule Planning.
b. For specific information about using Homer Connect, please refer to the Homer Connect Quick Guides for Students.
You will want to use the Guide to Schedule Planning as you prepare for your advising meeting at Summer Orientation. While reviewing course options and preferences, use the Course Selection Form to list the courses you will need for your major/minor/concentration, general education requirements, and/or that interest you. Please note: Not all courses will have available seats, but your listing will help your academic adviser/advising staff better understand your interests when you attend the course selection/registration component of Summer Orientation.
Please complete the Transfer Student Advising and Preregistration Questionnaire by Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Because academic advising is a critical component of student learning within the School of Humanities and Sciences, all students will be scheduled to meet with an adviser during Summer Orientation.
I look forward to meeting you in June. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by telephone at 607.274.3102 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
