Student Academic Briefing
During Day 2 of Summer Orientation students will attend an Academic Briefing. The Academic Briefing presentation is given by a member of the Dean's Office for the School of Humanities and Sciences. During the presentation you will learn about the School of Humanities and Sciences' mission and philosophy of a liberal education, academic advising, the tools for constructing your schedule, and the College's Integrative Core Curriulum. There will be an opportunity for questions, as well.
At the end of the presentation you will go with your orientation adviser to lunch and then have time to meet with them to discuss the advising and registration process. You will have many questions and we are excited to help you find those answers. Your orientation adviser will explain the process for registration, which starts at 8:30 a.m. on Day 3. Your orientation adviser will schedule appointment times with you for registration on Day 3.
You will receive a large amount of information during Summer Orientation. For your reference, we have posted the majority of the information you will receive from the School of Humanities and Sciences on this website.
