Take A Look At Some of the Incredible Facilities Available to Undergraduates at Ithaca College!
![]() |
In January 1993, construction of the New Science Building (recently renamed the Center For Natural Sciences) was complete. This state-of-the-art, $20,000,000 building is now home to Ithaca College's Chemistry, Biology and Physics departments. The facility provides each professor with their own private laboratory where students can carry out a variety of different research projects. In addition to the private labs, there are also several classroom labs . It is in these highly sophisticated labs that Experimental Chemistry I-V are taught.
Yet, it is not only the building in which the Chemistry Department resides that is advanced. The department itself has a well known reputation for constantly purchasing the most up-to-date lab equipment. The following is a partial list of the equipment currently held by the Ithaca College Chemistry Department. The groupings show at what class level the instruments first become available for use. Note that at many colleges and universities, access to such equipment is restricted to graduate students.

So what does all this mean? Ithaca's
chemistry undergraduates receive a rare combination of small
class size and laboratory experience. The above list attests to
Ithaca College's dedication to the latter. It is believed that
this unique education process yields better, more versatile
chemists.
