About the Art History Department
The Art History Department has access to several dedicated classrooms and study spaces designed specifically for teaching and learning with images. Thanks to a grant from the W. M. Keck Foundation, our spaces include a unique computer classroom and advanced digital technology devoted to art history. In addition, the department is adjacent to the exhibition spaces of the Handwerker Gallery, and courses on exhibition practices make use of the gallery for a hands-on experience. Our Visual Resources Collection has space for students to work with digital media, and the VRC maintains a growing in-house database of over 26,000 images, in addition to an extensive collection of photographic slides.
