My primary area of teaching is focused on Modern Art in Europe in the 19th and 20th Centuries. In addition, I have offered topics such as Modern Art in Paris, Chemistry and Art, and Interpreting Modern Art. I also teach an introduction to visual culture, and contribute to the department's Practicing Art History course. My research interests include the relationship of art to science in the Modern era, the city of Paris as a center of Modern Art, and the role of technology in exploring visual knowledge.
