Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Art History Prize?
Each year the Art History department awards a prize to an outstanding senior major. The student must have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement within the major (including a GPA of at least 3.50 in art history courses), been an active participant in events sponsored by the department and by the Handwerker Gallery, and been active participant in discussions inside and outside of the classroom. The Art History faculty votes each spring on who will be the Art History Prize winner, and the prize is awarded in April, at the end of the department's annual Senior Symposium. The prize winner receives a check for $75, a certificate, and a book prize.
