Cheryl Kramer, assistant professor of art history and director of Ithaca College’s Handwerker Gallery, has been awarded a $750 GO! grant by the New York State Council on the Arts. Administered by the Upstate History Alliance, the grant will provide Kramer the opportunity to attend the 2009 Museum Institute at Sagamore in the Adirondacks. The focus of this year’s program is “Understanding Audiences.”
“GO! grants are one of a series of grants offered to help museums and historical societies strengthen and develop their institutions and work with their communities,” Kramer said. “These grants are designed to make it easy for organizations to access professional help and improve their institutions. The opportunity given me by the GO! grant will allow the Handwerker Gallery to better serve its audiences and further its mission.”
GO! grants, along with the Get Ready! and Get Set! grants, constitute the Grants for Museum Advancement Program, which is administered by the Upstate History Alliance.
