Andreas Jonathon
Architectural Studies, '14
Hey! I’m Andreas Jonathan and I'm a sophomore Architectural Studies major from Roselle, New Jersey. I originally came to IC for Environmental Science. I loved learning about environmental policy and alternative energy but found that I wanted to get involved in more creative work. Architecture is actually a new part of my life, but once I found the program I fell in love with it as a subject and knew that architecture and design was what I needed to do with my life. The structure of architectural studies also allows me to get involved in other interests, which is why I declared minors in art and environmental studies, while also taking courses in politics, legal studies, and of course, art history. I hope to one day work in urban design and sustainable development, striving to develop communities that integrate humans back into the natural world. When I’m not in class I'm either working with the Bomber Bike Initiative, the Art History Department as a member of the Student Steering Committee, or volunteering at the Admissions Office. I’ll soon add working as Co-President and Finance Officer of the newly formed Arts Student Union to my resume. I try to get involved in as much as possible on campus, because I love it at Ithaca. It's sad to know that one day I’ll leave this place. But I am confident that I will leave it prepared to take on the world.
