STUDENTS: Biochemistry majors who wish to conduct research at the freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior level.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: After consultation with a faculty member doing biochemical research, the student undertakes a research problem under the guidance of that faculty member.
COURSE FORMAT/STYLE: Varies depending on the nature of the project, by arrangement with the faculty mentor.

PREREQUISITES: CHEM 23200
STUDENTS: Required for the B.S. in Chemistry and Biochemistry open to all interested and qualified students.
OBJECTIVES: This course focuses on protein structure and function, enzyme kinetics and mechanisms, and selected metabolic pathways. As this course is offered through the chemistry department, these topics will be discussed from a chemical viewpoint.
FORMAT AND STYLE: Three hours of lecture per week.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS & GRADING: Homework, quizzes, and exams.
