Environmental studies is a different kind of major: it is inherently interdisciplinary. Environmental issues involve many kinds of questions -- scientific, cultural, economic, historical, and even philosophical. No one approach to the study of environmental issues is adequate.
The environmental studies program is a rigorous, interdisciplinary, and practical program. As well as providing a great foundation for environmental work outside of college, it is also good preparation for both graduate school and law school. The program gives students a chance to work with faculty who are recognized scholars, and it facilitates internships both on campus and around the globe. Environmental studies is for those who care about our environmental destiny.
