The scholarship is awarded to a senior with need who majors in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, or some combination of the sciences and who, through his or her academic work and commitment to the liberal arts and the tradition of social service as personified by Thomas Morrin Jones.
Each Spring, a selection committee composed of the Chairs of the departments (or their delegates) will be convened by the Dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences. This committee shall select one or more current juniors to receive the award from those who have been nominated by the faculty of one or more of the four departments.
