Patricia Tempesta

Pat Tempesta is currently the interim chair of the newest department in Humanities and Sciences - the Education Department.

In addition to her administrative responsibilities, she is the founder and director of a partnership between Ithaca College and the Frederick Douglass Academy (FDA), a public middle/high school in New York City's Harlem community. Pat also directs a number of outreach programs with area public schools including the Partnership in Teaching, Access to Higher Education, and the South Hill-Ithaca College partnership.

Pat serves on the Board of Directors for the Ithaca Public Education Initiative (IPEI) as well as the Friends of FDA Board, and the Replications, Inc. Board in New York City which raises funds to replicate successful public school models in the New York City area. Pat is also on the advisory board for the Tompkins Educational organizing Consortium.
