Teresa Michel has been a teacher educator at Ithaca College since fall semester, 1989. During that time, she has taught a variety of required and elective courses in both the School of Humanities and Sciences and the Center for Teacher Education. She was also the director of the Ithaca College Student Mentor Program from 1993-1997.
Together with her colleague, Jeff Claus, she was awarded Cornell University's 1998 Faculty Fellow in Service Award for a paper they co-authored entitled "Service Learning for Social Change: the Importance of Community Collaboration and a Critically Reflective Framework." She has presented papers on mentoring and the need for conceptual change in youthwork at a variety of local, regional, state, and national educational conferences. Her current work involves action research in teacher education.
