POWERSHIFT 2009 - CLEAN ENERGY FOR THE COUNTRY

In 2009, Ithaca College students traveled to Washington, DC, to participate in PowerShift 2009, the country's largest rally in support of conversion to clean energy sources.

Travel costs were partially subsidized by awards from the Department of Environmental Studies and Science and the HSBC Commit-to-Change grant.

Students participated in various educate/activate/energize workshops, and attended lectures given by nationally-recognized speakers including Van Jones, Nancy Pelosi, Ralph Nader, Bill Mckibben, and Majora Carter.

While there, they networked with other college students and joined the mass demonstration on the Mall in front of the Capitol Building.

Check out the photo gallery on the Commit-to-Change website, and the "Your Impact" PowerPoint created by Ithaca College Environmental Club students.
