Social Studies teacher

The past year has been quite a transition for me. After
completing my Masters in Literacy Education at NYU, I began
working as a long term sub in a NYC public school in Harlem.
I decided I wanted to move back upstate in order to be
closer to my family, so I came back to Ithaca. I am now
teaching Global History II at Ithaca High school. Along with
my teaching duties, I serve as the junior class advisor with
another teacher, and I will be one of the assistant track
and field coaches in the spring. I look forward to coaching
and planning events such as the Junior Prom. The high light
of my teaching career so far has been incorporating writing
into my curriculum. My students have been exploring the
content using multiple genres and have benefited from using
the writing process.

the Lou Gehrig Academy of Integrated Technology located in the South Bronx, NY; lead the school's Mock Trial team to win 2nd place in the Thurgood Marshall Junior Mock Trial Tournament in 2008... aiming for 1st place this year!; Coaching the school's Cheerleading/Dance team; tutoring after school in both Math and English/Language Arts; and assisting in the school's Saturday Success Program.
