NCTM Meeting
Students Travel to Atlanta for Professional Meeting
On March 20, 2007, seven students who are preparing to be secondary school mathematics teachers traveled (24 hours by bus) to Atlanta, GA, to attend the Annual Meeting of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) on March 21-24. Along with nearly 15,000 math educators from around the world, four undergraduates in the math teaching option (Audra Chapman, Josh Hares, Ashley Houseknecht, and Brian Sevey) and three Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) students (Tyler Daffinee, Shawn Harr, and Bryan Reynolds) participated in sessions on the learning and teaching of mathematics, listened to inspiring keynote addresses, and roamed the NCTM Exhibit Hall to view (and collect) some of the latest products, books, and technology for their classrooms.
