1989-1990

  • 39 math majors and 21 computer science majors
  • Margie Hale, Uwe Reichenbach, and Osman Yurekli join the department as assistant professors.
  • A major NSF grant for integrating computers in the math curriculum is received by Connie Elson, Chuck Leska, Diane Schwartz, and Stan Seltzer.

1988-1989

  • 41 math majors and 33 computer science majors
  • David T. Brown joins the department as an associate professor.
  • John Cigas, James Conklin, Craig Guilbault, and Margaret (Hendery) Robinson join the department as assistant professors.
  • John Kulesza, Joe Schettino, and Jeff Weeks leave the department.

1987-1988

  • 39 math majors and 55 computer science majors
  • Dani Novak is promoted to associate professor.
  • Sanzheng Qiao joins the department as an assistant professor.
  • David Lewis, David Nordstrom, and David Rosenthal leave the department.

  • John Kulesza joins the department as an assistant professor.
  • Frank Shirley leaves the department.
  • The Shape of Space, by Jeff Weeks is published.

  • 62 math majors and 98 computer science majors
  • Steve Hilbert is promoted to full professor.
  • Paul Glenn and Eric Robinson are promoted to associate professor.
  • Nava Aizikowitz, Jeffrey Carroll, David Nordstrom, Stan Seltzer, Frank Shirley, Louise Tang, and Jeff Weeks join the department as assistant professors.

  • Eric Robinson becomes chair of the department.
  • John Rosenthal is promoted to full professor.
  • Chuck Leska joins the department as an associate professor.
  • Jeffrey Carroll joins the department as an assistant professor.
  • Richard Cowan and Bill Tastle join the department as lecturers.
  • Finite Mathematics with Applications, by Shirley Hockett and Marty Sternstein is published.

  • A computer science major is offered.
  • Marty Sternstein is promoted to full professor.
  • Dorothy Buerk and Pat Woodworth are promoted to associate professor.
