  • Patricia Alessi and Jane-Jane Lo join the department as lecturers.

  • Barron's AP Statisitcs, by Marty Sternstein is published.

  • 57 math majors and 49 computer science majors
  • Teresa Moore and John Barr (CS) are promoted to associate professor.
  • Patrick Ratchford and Wanda Dann (CS) join the department as assistant professors.
  • Conjecture and Proof: An Introduction to Mathematical Thinking, by Diane Schwartz is published.
  • A major NSF implementation grant (COMPASS) is received by Eric Robinson, Margaret Robinson, and John Maceli.

1996-1997

  • Bill Tastle (CS) is promoted to associate professor.
  • Kevin Hufford (CS) is promoted to assistant professor.
  • Marcia Ascher is named professor emerita.
  • James Kraft and Uwe Reichenbach leave the department.
