Professor Wiesner Presents at the University of Nebraska and Hobart & William Smith Colleges
Emilie Wiesner, a professor in the mathematics department, recently gave two presentations.
The first, "Whittaker Categories for Lie Superalgebras," was presented at an American Mathematical Society conference at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Based on the work in a joint project with Irfan Bagci (University of California-Riverside) and Dina Christodouloupoulo (University of Connecticut), Professor Wiesner extended results related to Whittaker categories for Lie algebras to the setting of Lie superalgebras.
The second presentation, "Two-Faced: The Cantor Set and Notions of Size," was presented at Hobart & William Smith Colleges. In the talk, Professor Wiesner described how the Cantor set provides perspectives on the idea of infinity and how these properties relate to the idea of size.
