Long-term Goals

Enhance the curriculum so that the IC physics department is a first-rank liberal arts department with a unique experiential style. (Turn up the heat)

Increase the average number of physics graduates to 10 by 2010. (Ten by ten)

Create and maintain an infrastructure that supports our teaching and research plans. (Build it, they will come)

High-priority tasks for next year are to

• activate learning assessment methods
• reconsider our intro lab courses
• balance fall and spring course distribution
• expand and maintain the web site
• activate the physics club
• establish a majors room
• maintain the seminar series, Physics Café, Ford open houses
• reassess and negotiate our 3-2 physics engineering program
