Sociology Major Matthew Worhach Awarded Dana Internship
Sociology major Matthew Worhach has been awarded the Dana Internship for a summer research project in Ithaca. He will be working with Bill Hudenko, a psychology professor at IC, conducting a qualitative study on the closeness between mother and child. Matthew will interview mothers of autistic children, mothers of Down Syndrome children, and mothers of normally developing children to examine the unique bond between a mother and her child. This project is part of the work that Matthew is doing for the Advancing Autism Treatment research team in the psychology department. He will be transcribing and coding the interviews, and it promises to offer him solid research experience and data.
