The Ticket Office Staff run and maintain the Department of Theatre Arts ticket center, located in Dillingham Center.

The Ticket Office Staff run and maintain the Department of Theatre Arts ticket center, located in Dillingham Center. 


  • Student must be a major within the Theatre Arts Management program;
    • Preference will be given to students with Junior or Senior standing and to those who have held ticket office management and house management practicum positions
  • Must be available to work 5-10 hours per week between the hours of noon and 5pm
  • Experience with customer service preferred
  • Patience
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good communications skills across multiple platforms
  • Desire to mentor other students is required

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acquiring and demonstrating a thorough knowledge of:
    • Theatre seating maps
    • Length of show, dates and times
    • Details of productions (type, authors, themes, relevant personnel, etc.)
    • Directions to theatre
    • Parking solutions
    • Competing events on campus and in the city
    • Other ticketing outlets and online
    • Main stage website
    • Audience experience of sitting in theatre
    • Night-of-show scenarios
  •  Selling tickets using Provenue ticketing system:
    • Know user types, sales guide and payment types
    • Resolve customers’ ticket problems and issues
    • Resolve problems with computer hardware and software issues, using Ticket Center Ithaca as a resource
    • Reconcile user drawer reports and troubleshoot discrepancies
    • Fill out and file forms correctly
  • Training other students in use of the ticketing system:
    • Perform, teach and enforce policies and procedures
    • Model appropriate behavior
    • Report problems with staff to Supervisor
  • Stewarding the ticket office space:
    • Limit access to ticket office space to appropriate personnel
    • Guard cash and safe
    • Document and refer problems with physical space (equipment, furniture, etc.) appropriately
    • Keep a clean and tidy work-space

Hours: 5-10 per week during the semester/up to 20 per week during the summer.
