Lee Byron is a Professor with the Department of Theatre Arts at Ithaca College. From 1998 until May of 2012 he served as Chairperson and Director of Theatre. 

At Ithaca College, Lee has directed Baby, Children of Eden, Urinetown, Violet, Side Show and Bat Boy. Prior to his arrival at Ithaca he spent six years on the faculty at Pennsylvania State University where he taught graduate-level theater administration and was the general manager of the University Resident Theatre Company. In addition to his academic year responsibilities, Lee was also the producing and managing director for Pennsylvania Centre Stage, Penn State's professional summer theater.

Prior to Penn State, he spent 10 years on the west coast as a production stage manager for such companies as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Arizona Theatre Company, Los Angeles Theatre Center, and the San Francisco Mime Troupe. In addition, Lee worked as an assistant casting director for Reuben Cannon and Associates, working on such projects as the Steven Speilberg feature Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the NBC miniseries Amerika, and various Perry Mason movies of the week.

At Ithaca College, Lee teaches stage management, directing, script analysis, and various theater administration and management classes. He is a member of Actors' Equity Association and a founding member of the International Music Theatre Teachers Symposium. Lee holds a B.A. in theater and an M.B.A., both from Penn State.
