Exploratory Career Coaching Group
Exploratory Career Coaching Groups are groups of 5 to 8 students who meet weekly during the fall semester to learn about and go through the decision-making process for choosing an academic major.
Discussions and activities during group meetings are facilitated by a professional career counselor. Over the course of the semester, the group will cover topics such as interests, skills, values, internships, resume writing, and more. There are also some expectations/activities outside of the meeting times, such as creating a resume, researching occupations, and competing career-related inventories.
Participants in the Exploratory Working Groups are chosen based on applications, which become available at the beginning of each fall semester in the Office of Career Services and on their website. The number of groups formed each semester is determined based on the number of applications received. Meeting times also vary by semester, as they are chosen based on when the highest number of participants can attend.
