Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Exploratory Program?

The Exploratory Program is a combination of advising, courses, and workshops designed to help you find the right major for you.  Knowledgeable guides and fellow travelers accompany you as you discover your own path and get ready for a successful future. Students have up to four semesters to take courses that spark their interest and discover the major, minor, and extracurriculars that are right for them.

Exploratory students begin to complete the Integrative Core Curriculum that all IC students share during their first two years. This helps them explore multiple disciplines and ensures that they stay on track to graduate. Exploratory students have access to five different kinds of advisors, who assist students in everything from choosing and registering for courses to identifying a career path that matches evolving interests.  For more information about the Exploratory Program, visit the program's website.
