Major: Communication Management and Design
How did you choose your major?
A system of trial and error! I changed my major twice and considered several others without officially changing it, but did manage to panic my parents with weekly phone calls announcing a series of different majors until I settled on the right one for me. Throughout my frantic major swaps, I made sure to take classes in the areas I was considering and spoke with professors in those departments, which was ultimately what helped me solidify my decision!
What was your favorite resource to use when you were an Exploratory student?
I went to my advisor several times and also utilized the Academic Advising Center.
What do you like most about the Exploratory program?
The strong network of supportive advisors, professors, and peers!
What is your biggest piece of advice to other Exploratory students?
Take classes in subjects outside of your comfort zone and in areas you’ve never studied before, even if you know you won’t major in that subject it will still expand your mind and viewpoint!
What extracurriculars are you involved with on campus?
I am a President’s Host in the Office of Admissions, a Peer Career Advisor in the Office of Career Services, a co- chair of the Events committee in Active Minds, and the president of Circle K.
