Pre-registration 2009

How Do I Know What Courses to Schedule?

As you work through this pre-registration material, you are beginning the process of your educational planning, as you reflect on the questions presented in various forms. The forms must be submitted to us by June 15, 2009. The information you provide will assist us in advising you both during summer Orientation and throughout your first year at Ithaca College.  Taking the time now to begin the educational planning process will aid you in:

  1. identifying your current areas of interest
  2. categorizing your current areas of interest
  3. selecting appropriate courses based on your current interests
  4. preparing to meet with an academic adviser at Orientation

Remember that this is just a starting point to determine your current interests!  One of the great advantages of the Exploratory Program is that you will explore and discover many new areas of interest.

The Athletics, Transfer Credits, AP and IB Credits form should be completed first.  For course pre-registration purposes, this information is essential in assuring that the H&S Academic Advising Office has the most up-to-date information relevant to possible AP, IB and transfer credits and your plans related to athletics.

After completing the Athletics, Transfer Credits, AP and IB Credits form, you should next review the following material, in this order:

  1. Who Enrolls in the Exploratory Program?
  2. Scheduling Options
  3. Disciplinary Based Options
