Creation of experimental courses requires preparation of two documents:
a) the registrar’s “New Experimental Course Worksheet” (pdf) and
b) a course syllabus or syllabus outline (Word document) along with LA designation rationale (if appropriate)
These documents are submitted together electronically to the H&S dean’s office (firstname.lastname@example.org) for review and approval; once approved, the dean’s office forwards the approved New Experimental Course Worksheet to the registrar so that a course can be created in Homer. Proposals are reviewed as they are received; please allow 5-7 days for dean's office approval, and 3-5 days for the registrar to program the course in Homer.
Please be sure to name the documents according to the following protocol: SUBJ NUMBER Exp Course_SEM YR (e.g., ANTH 40701 Exp Course_Spr13); use the same format for the syllabus information, but add “syll” to the file name (ANTH 40701 syll Exp Course_Spr13).
Specific instructions for completing both forms are provided in the H&S Experimental Course Process document.
