The Cartographic Impulse Seminar 2009
The Cartographic Impulse Honors Seminar, taught by Professor Anjeli Nerlekar, took a trip to Cornell University's Rare Map Collection this fall, where they got hands-on experience in dealing with the very material they were studying in class. Most students in the seminar would agree that such visits assist in meeting the course goals of being able to examine and destabilize the assumptions about the factual character of a map, and explore the cultural, political, social contexts in which maps are made and circulated.
