The Honors Academic Program

External Fellowships, Grants, and Academic Opportunities

Competitive Scholarships and Fellowships

One of the most exciting prospects for a beginning scholar is winning a nationally competitive scholarship or fellowship. Winning a major fellowship can be a tremendously important moment in a scholar’s life. Fellowships may support you in undergraduate study or in graduate school, or may enable you to study independently in a foreign country. Below you will find a list of some of the most prominent scholarships and fellowships.  If you think that you would like to apply for one of these grants you should work closely with a faculty member. Ideally, in the majority of cases, you should begin the process of identifying a grant in you sophomore year and preparing your application over your junior year.

The Ithaca College coordinator for External Fellowships, Grants, and Academic Opportunities is Professor Hugh Egan of the English department. Please click here to learn more about these opportunities.
