Two Funny Feminists Will Give Free Stand-Up Comedy at Ithaca College

Dave Maley, 3/17/2006

Ithaca, NY--Ithaca College will conclude its March celebration of Women's History Month with "Funny, Funny, Funny Feminists," a free performance by stand-up comediennes Margot Leitman and Giulia Rozzi. The curtain will go up on Friday, March 31, at 7:00 p.m., in IC Square, Phillips Hall.

Both Leitman and Rozzi graduated from the College in 2000. Rozzi went west and worked as a regular at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles. Leitman, meanwhile, stayed on the East Coast, where her work on the comedy club circuit garnered her finalist status in the 2004 Best Female Stand-up competition, held annually by the Emerging Comics of New York. 2004 was also the year Leitman and Rozzi crossed paths and cowrote "Namedroppers," a comedy show that ran for three months at the UCB Theatre in New York City.

Leitman is currently starring in her one-woman show "Just Here for the Day," which is running at the UCB Theatre. Rozzi has moved back to the East Coast and is splitting her time between New York and Boston, performing a mix of stand-up, storytelling, and improv.
