"Equal Rights: Reggae and Social Change," the Handwerker Gallery's first exhibition of the academic year, will open on Tuesday, September 4.
I write to inform the Ithaca College community that Howard Erlich, who has served since 1988 as dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences, has informed me of his intention to retire from that position at the conclusion of the 2007–8 academic year. He will be on sabbatical leave during 2008–9, and will have the opportunity to return to the faculty in the Department of Speech Communication in the fall of 2009.
Michael "Bodhi" Rogers, assistant professor of physics, and Jack Rossen, associate professor of anthropology, have been awarded $188,071 from the National Science Foundation to purchase a suite of geophysics instruments and soil sampling and analysis tools. Ithaca College is now one of a handful of locations in the United States that has all of these instruments in one laboratory.
Robert Sullivan, associate professor of speech communication, has assumed the role of director of the Humanities and Sciences Honors Program as of June 1.
Dr. Stacia Zabusky has been appointed assistant dean in the School of Humanities and Sciences, following a national search.
