UPCOMING EVENTS

Students who are planning to take the MCAT this year should begin planning for registering.

The registration will open sometime on Nov. 2.  For more information on test dates, locations, and registration guidelines check their web site.

Seating can be limited at some testing centers and dates, so we highly recommend signing up early.  That way you are more likely to be able to go to a relatively nearby testing site on the day you choose.

Note that the MCAT is offered a number of times throughout the year at computer testing sites.  There are ten administrations between January and May of this year.

Pre-med Meeting:  Thursday, November 5, 12:10-1:00 p.m., CNS 112

  • A speaker from Teach for America will speak with the group.
  • More is planned, so check back for details.

Saturday, November  14th, 10 am  -  4pm :  “Healthcare, Chronic Illness and Civil Rights", Clark Lounge. This is a national panel of speakers hosted by The Bleeding Disorders Association of the Southern Tier.

Anyone who is interested should stop by Dr. Andy Smith's office (CNS 155) to pick up a flyer.  Space is limited, so you will need to register by Nov. 9th  if you are interested.  The contact person for this event is Gina Salemme at asjsaluckey@aol.com.

Sunday, November 22:  Annual Diversity Student Open House,  The Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  This is an opportunity for students from groups that are historically underrepresented in medicine to tour the medical school, meet students and get information on the admission process and summer programs.

The deadline for registering is November 11.  Contact Andy Smith (Asmith@ithaca.edu) for more information.
