Brown is a central player in Ithaca College's Partnerships for Sustainability Education, and is also heavily involved with sustainability initiatives throughout Tompkins County and within Ithaca College, where she serves in the Office of the Provost.   She is an important player in IC's now-nationally recognized programs and practices related to incorporating sustainability principles throughout the campus curriculum and operations. Brown is also an active member of Sustainable Tompkins, a member of her school board and church board, and a member of voICes, the Ithaca College faculty/staff chorus.  In addition, Brown organizes major symposia, workshop series, and other educational public events. Besides that, she is a wife, mother to two young adult women, attentive daughter to an aging father, and friend to many in the community.  Congratulations to Marian!
