Growing up in northern New Jersey, I always had an appreciation for the power words can have. After it was suggested to me, I could think of no better area of study than helping others communicate and giving them a power that many others take for granted.
When I was first looking at colleges, my mother gave me the wise advice to choose the place that was the “warmest and the fuzziest” as this place was going to serve as a part-time home for several years of my life. Despite being associated with cold weather, Ithaca College was as close to that description as I could find. I struggle to highlight a particular memorable event because after nearly six years at IC, each little moment has helped contribute to one of the “warmest and fuzziest” feelings I have ever had. My time at IC cannot be emphasized accurately with a singular fleeting instance; it’s a mixture of wonderfully surprising moments, incredible educational experiences, and spectacular and caring people. While I am no longer a student at Ithaca College, I plan to always be a student. Life will always have something to teach me.
