OT / PT Clinic

Located on the fourth floor of the Center for Health Sciences, the Occupational and Physical Therapy Clinic offers comprehensive rehabilitation services to the Ithaca College community.

The Ithaca College Occupational and Physical Therapy (OT/PT) Clinic is available to the Ithaca College community including students, faculty/staff, their families and the residents at Longview.

All services are provided by New York State licensed therapists.

The Clinic is available for the treatment of a variety of diagnoses including: orthopedic, neurological, hand, performing artists, pediatric and work hardening. Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Podiatry or Doctor of Medical Dentistry referrals from New York State for therapy services are required for any treatment of a patient. The OT/PT Clinic can only perform an evaluation for a patient with a referral.

In addition to direct patient care services, the clinicians also provide clinical in-services and screenings, including performing artist screenings, and services for older adults living at Longview, a senior residential complex located near the campus.

The OT/PT Clinic is staffed by clinical faculty who are licensed Physical and Occupational therapists and an administrative assistant. OT/PT students are hired as aides to assist in the clinic and reception area. Each student is supervised by a therapist or staff and has a variety of responsibilities. Elective courses are available to students to allow them to learn more about patient care and clinic operations.

The Clinic is open during the academic year only. The hours for each semester will vary depending clinical faculty schedules. Staffed by faculty from the Departments of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy, the Clinic also serves as an integral component of the curriculum by providing: clinical experiences and patient demonstrations for many of the clinically?oriented courses, an environment for conducting clinical research, and interdisciplinary clinical inservices in collaboration with other departments in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance.
