Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology

The following scholarships are available for students majoring in Speech-Language Pathology. Scholarships are based on financial need unless noted otherwise.

Charles A. Frueauff Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to outstanding undergraduate students in the Departments of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology or in programs in community health education, therapeutic recreation, and health policy studies.

Arkell Hall Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to undergraduate students showing outstanding academic ability in the Departments of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology or in programs in community health education, therapeutic recreation, and health policy studies.

William A. and Fern N. Lyons Scholarship

Awarded to a student in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology who has superior academic ability and demonstrated financial need.

Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson '70 Endowed Scholarship

Awarded to a senior or graduate student in Speech-Language Pathology who is interested in speech clarity and how it can be improved by working with muscle-based therapy. Financial need is not required.

National Rehabilitation Medical Network Scholarship

Awarded to a full-time graduate student in the Department of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.  Eligible students must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 and demonstrate outstanding clinical performance. Financial need is not a requirement.

The National Rehabilitation Medical Network specializes in treating persons with physical disabilities caused by spinal cord and head injuries, stroke, arthritis, amputation, multiple sclerosis, post-polio syndrome, and other neurological and orthopedic conditions.

It has grown from a single hospital to The NRH Medical Rehabilitation Network providing inpatient and outpatient care and day treatment programs. The network provides nearly 200,000 ambulatory visits annually in addition to the hospital's more than 1,700 inpatient admissions. Physicians nationwide consistently rank NRH among “America’s Best Hospitals,” as reported by U.S. News & World Report.

Cecelia Shimer Endowed Scholarship

Awarded to an outstanding graduate student in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology in memory of Cecelia Shimer. Financial need is not required.
