In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Exercise Professional Majors Club, in conjunction with the Ithaca Cancer Resource Center, is hosting a Breast Cancer Walk. The event, “One Step Closer to a Cure”, is Thursday, October 23, 2008, from 12:15 to 1:00 on the track in Butterfield Stadium. It is open to students, faculty, and staff. There is no cost to participate in the event - just come support the cause. However, we are asking you to get sponsored by friends and family. If you can raise $20, you get a free shirt - if you do not, but would like to purchase a shirt, they will be available for $20 at the door. You may also make donations at the door. All of the proceeds will be donated to the Ithaca Cancer Resource Center, formerly known as the Ithaca Breast Cancer Alliance. Included in the event will be music, raffles, food and drink, and recognition of cancer survivors. Registration and sponsor forms will be available in the Exercise and Sport Science Department office (CHS 313) and the Wellness Clinic (CHS 302), as well as online at http://www.ithaca.edu/hshp/depts/ess/docs/onestep/. Please drop off your registration forms prior to the event at the above locations. If you do not register ahead of time, you may also register at the door. Again, there is no cost to participate, but we hope you can raise money through sponsorships. We hope to make this event a huge success, so please come out and help support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
