Interested in a career in health, sport, education, or leisure? The faculty, current students, and deans of the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance (HSHP) invite visitors to attend a unique academic session at the next admission open house, Saturday, October 27, 2007.
Starting in the Center for Health Sciences (CHS), visitors may choose to participate in interactive classroom demonstrations and presentations ("Talk-About," noon-12:45 p.m.), and then tour clinic and lab facilities in both CHS and Smiddy Hall ("Walk-About," 12:45-1:30 p.m.). HSHP representatives and department information will be available, and student project displays will be shown continuously throughout both sessions in the CHS atrium lobby. Not sure of your major? Our HSHP preprofessional faculty coordinator will also be available to advise you on this program for undeclared first-year students interested in our fields of study. Information will also be available regarding planning for study-abroad opportunities and career opportunities for HSHP students.
According to Dean Steven Siconolfi, "This is a great opportunity for prospective students to get to know our school and what we have to offer for majors and minors. We welcome your interest and questions in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Join us!"
If you are unable to attend and you have questions, contact the HSHP dean's office at hshpdean@ithaca.edu. The next open house sponsored by the Office of Admission -- the Ithaca and You program -- will be held on Monday, November 12 (the Veterans Day holiday).
