The tuition free online Clinical Instructor Development Program (CIDP) is now available. This self-paced program is designed for clinical instructors [CIs] and center coordinators of clinical education [CCCEs] affiliated with the Ithaca College Physical Therapist education program. The (CIDP) has been designed to enhance CI/CCCE effectiveness in clinical supervision and clinical instruction for our students.

This year’s conference was lead by Francis Battisti of Battisti Networks. Francis is a noted professor, speaker-consultant, author who offers individuals and organizations a pathway to explore their potential and move toward desired transformation. “An Interdisciplinary Conference for Supervisors of Ithaca College Students” was help on June 13th. The audience was treated to two sessions. Session One focused on Strength –Based Leadership Skills as it applies to supervision of students and their growth. Session Two- “Developing a Resilient Lifestyle... Beyond Stress Management” helped us to identify and use cognitive strategies to enhance the mentoring relationship and using stress mastery techniques to promote student and supervisor performance.
Participants came from a variety of backgrounds- physical therapy, speech pathology, occupational therapy and public health.
Our 15th annual free clinical education conferences was held in Rochester, on June 15, 2007. Janet Bezner, PT, PhD, Senior Vice President for Education at the APTA, presented "Using Personality Typing to Enhance Clinical Education". The program allowed to participants to explore the management of relationships and appreciation of relating one temperament to another, as crucial components to achieving success in education. In the afternoon session the participants explored professionalism as one of six elements associated with Vision 2020 and a doctoring profession.
