Stephen Lahr

I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College in 1975, and my Doctoral Degree in Anatomy (with research emphasis in Neuroanatomy) from the State University of New York Health Science Center (Syracuse) in 1989. I have clinical experience in several general practice settings and an academic background emphasis in the basic sciences of Anatomy and Neuroanatomy. My scholarly interests are in neural plasticity, balance evaluation and treatment, and computer assisted instruction and web site preparation (which includes supervising a student created website on musculoskeletal anatomy dissection). 

Related to my interest in teaching technology, I am Chair of the Ithaca College Information Technology Planning and Advisory Committee, and I have served on the advisory board for the Elsevier Publisher’s web site StudentConsult. 

I have been teaching at Ithaca College since 1990. Currently, my teaching responsibilities include being the course coordinator for Pathology for Physical Therapists (PTBS-40300) and Neuroanatomy (PTBS-45100), and also being a lab instructor in the Musculoskeletal Examination and Evaluation (PTBS-31400) course. At various times I have taught and assisted in labs for Human Anatomy (PTBS-31000), Therapeutic Exercise (PTBS-40200), and Electrophysiological Examination and Evaluation (PTBS-46400).

My professional interests include activity in the American Physical Therapy Association, currently as chair of the NYPTA Southern Tier District and recently as a delegate to the NYPTA Delegate Assembly and the APTA House of Delegates.
