Physical Therapy student PT Club members worked hard during 2008-09 to meet their goal and raise $3000 for the Georgia State - Marquette Challenge to support rehabilitation related research conducted through the Physical Therapy Foundation. IC is one of 65 PT programs nationwide that participated in the challenge this year. The goal of the challenge is to raise $175,000. The $3000 raised by the IC PT Student Club is more than double the previous record amount of $1400 raised and contributed last year and will earn IC and honorable mention.
The club's efforts were lead by the senior class representatives: Co-presidents Lindsey Johnston and Michelle McManus, APTA Liaison Shane Hamman, and Event Planners Jackie Barbano and Alexa Bancel, with help by evveryone in the class. Fundraising events included the first annual "Bomber Blitz" 5K road race and walk, "Helping Hands" massage sessions, and a powderpuff football tournament.
