Ithaca College's New Clinical Doctorate (D. P. T.)

The doctor of physical therapy program at Ithaca College is designed for freshman entry and designed for completion of all requirements for a D.P.T. in six total years of study. Students entering as freshman with appropriate AP and Transfer credits may request to complete the DPT program in as little as five years.

The hallmark of the College's first doctoral program will be excellence in intellectual growth coupled with intense and varied professional clinical experience.
For specific courses, see the the D.P.T. curriculum.

Transfer students to the PT are welcome, but opportunities are competitive and based on available space. Internal and external students may transfer into the program starting as early as the spring semester of the freshmen year and up to the beginning of Physical Therapy Department courses.  The D. P. T. can be earned in as few as three years for students with a B. S. degree.
For more details, see the Transfer Oppotunities section.

All students accepted into the PT program are guaranteed eligibility for the DPT curriculum (i.e. no graduate application is needed provided academic requirements are met).
