
The U.S. News & World Report America's Best Colleges for 2008 has ranked Ithaca College in the top ten of "Best Master's Universities by Region" for the twelth year in a row.
Furthermore, once again, the publication named Ithaca College in the top ten "Great Schools, Great Prices," based on the quality of education at a reasonable cost.
Applicants should be aware that all physical therapist professional education programs in the US are subject to accreditation "standards that assure quality and continuous improvement in the entry-level preparation of physical therapists, and reflect the evolving nature of education, research, and practice." While the Education Section of APTA recognizes that there are proprietary organizations that rank physical therapist education programs, the profession encourages prospective students to provide their own comparisons through careful examination of information on program and APTA websites, and visits to the campuses to talk with enrolled students and program faculty.

The IC first time test taker pass rate for 2007 National Licensing Exam for Physical Therapy, was 95%, The IC pass rate continues to compare very favorably to New York State (83%) and national (89%) pass rates for first time test takers.
During the three-year period 2005-07 the IC pass rate average is 93%, while the NYS pass rate average has been 67% and nationally its 81%.

The 19 full-time PT Department faculty as a group average over 13 years teaching experience and over 12 years at IC. All the the faculty are physical therapists and have extensive clinical experience. Thirteen faculty have doctoral degrees and nine have advanced certification in clinical speciality areas.
In addition, highly qualified adjunct faculty are used on a limited basis when need to supplement the full-time faculty and/or provide expertise in specialized areas.
Students entering as freshman in the fall are able to fulfill the requirements for a D.P.T. (doctor of physical therapy) degree at Ithaca College in six years of total study. A bachelor of science degree, in clinical health studies, will be awarded after four years, and the D.P.T. can be earned with two additional years.
