Current Research

Dr. Keller's research interests include exercise in pediatric and geriatric populations, and performance optimization in athletes. She has published papers in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, American Journal of Human Biology, Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport, and Journal of Sport Medicine and Physical Fitness among others. She recently completed a book chapter on gender differences in fitness of children.

Classes

Dr. Keller is on sabbatical this fall semester, but next fall she will be team teaching "Physiological Mechanisms of Exercise", which is currently taught by Dr. Devor and Dr. Swensen. She also teaches "Graded Exercise Testing and Prescription" which is both a lab and lecture course. Class topics include principles of EKG interpretation, exercise prescription, principles of graded exercise testing, and metabolic measurements. Students write exercise prescriptions for at risk and diseased individuals, as they would be doing in a professional setting.
