Current Research

Dr. Sigg's interests lie in human movement, both normal and pathological. He is currently involved in looking at a variety of human movement patterns across the age spectrum. Three of his most current studies are as follows: 1. Kinetics and kinematics of jumping in elementary school children grades K through 5. 2. A case study analysis of the effects of hyaluronic acid injections to the knee as it relates to function of a person with severe osteoarthritis. 3. Hip flexor strength and its effect on parameters of level and stair gait of individuals greater than 60 years of age.

Classes

Dr. Sigg team-teaches a course titled, "Multi-dimensional Assessment of Physical Funtion." This course examines a myraid of psychophysical performance factors that contribute to wellness and performance. Emphasis is placed on techniques to assess muscle function (e.g., goniometery, manual muscle testing), wellness factors related to strength, gait, posture, and body composition, and designing multidimensional exercise programming.
