I received my undergraduate degree from West Virginia University in Physical Education/Teacher Education. My graduate assistantship is with the women’s swim team. I assist head coach Paula Miller with anything she needs. I have had the opportunity to travel with the team and join them on their training trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I chose Ithaca College because it had an excellent academic reputation. They also had the graduate assistantship opening for the women’s swim team. What I like most about IC and the Ithaca area is that there is always something to do! In the fall I attended Apple Festival which was a lot of fun. I could spend hours walking around down town in all the shops. I also like that there are many stores available such as Wal-Mart, Barns & Noble, Bed Bath & Beyond, Staples, etc. You do not have to go far to get something that you need. My most memorable experience at Ithaca was my trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida with the women’s swim team. The weather was beautiful, the girls trained very hard, and we had a lot of fun! I believe that the research methods class has really helped me to grow academically. After completing the class I feel much more confident in my ability to read, understand, and utilize a research report. I will absolutely use the skills I obtained in research methods class when I start teaching.
