Barbara Hansen
I came to Ithaca College in 1996 to be the academic fieldwork coordinator of the occupational therapy department. Previously I was an occupational therapist in various settings including rehabilitation, private practice, home-care and consultant work. I have worked with all age groups from newborn to very elderly. special training's have been with diagnoses of amputees, CVA, spinal cord injury, visual impairments and spina bifida. I have worked as an occupational therapist in several states and also completed an assignment with Partners of America in Montserrat, West Indies. Currently, my clinical work is in early-intervention home care therapy in addition to my academic work within the department. I have always appreciated the diversity that the field of occupational therapy has allowed and continues to allow me in my career path. Assisting students in planning fieldwork and the beginning steps of their career path is something that I very much enjoy and feel privileged to be involved with.
