Current Research:
The Development of Cultural Competence in Allied Health Students:
--Teaching a course and modules within selected courses to explore the issues of
cultural competence
-- Take small groups of students to the Dominican Republic to study health-related beliefs and health care in another culture
--Researching the effect of cultural immersion on the awareness of cultural sensitivity among students

Childhood Occupations
--Preschool Interaction in a cultural Context: researching the quality and quantity of social interactions among preschoolers in the Dominican Republic and central New York state
--Occupations of Adolescents with and without Physical Disabilities: researching time spent in various occupations in two groups of adolescents
--Motor Control in a Virtual Environment: testing the utility of playing a game in a virtual environment for the development of motor control in children with and without motor impairment
