Graduate Programs
The Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (SLP/A) at Ithaca College offers graduate programs in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), and Teaching Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). The graduate education program in SLP at Ithaca College is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), 10901 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852, 301-897-5700. Students who complete either graduate program will be eligible to apply for the Certificate in Clinical Competence in Speech-Language-Pathology (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA. According to ASHA records our graduate students have enjoyed a 95% cumulative pass rate on the Praxis examination since 1997.
A minimum of an overall grade point average of 3.0 is necessary for consideration for SLP/A admission. All applications for admission and graduate assistantship award considerations, transcripts, letters of recommendation and GRE scores received by February 1, 2004 for the 2004-2005 academic year receive preferential treatment. Students may enroll in individual courses on a non-matriculated basis.
